Are
you ready for another simple but very effective Internet marketing pointer?
There
are a number of easy ways to get the word out about your business and forums
are arguably one of the best. With a little consistent effort every day
you can drive free traffic to your offerings in no time.
Once
you have a place that you want people to go, say an affiliate program a website
or blog, you can place signature links at forums and send people to your
offerings.
Forums
are a great way to reach out to people interested in the same things you
are. People that are interested in what you have to offer.
They
are almost always free and also a great way to meet people who may become
partners later on down the road. Very simply you can Google any topic or
phrase followed by the word forum and find a ton of forums to choose from.
I
suggest you find 4 or 5 in your niche and join them. Registration is
usually as easy as entering a user name and password and you're in.
Some
forums require you to post a certain number of times before you get access to
their "advanced" areas where you can promote your products.
Be
sure to be specific in your responses and add value because most forums have
rules to keep spammers away. You will find that after awhile, people will
get to know and trust you and you can be regarded as a resident expert on your
topic pretty quickly.
Once
you have people's attention and confidence they will follow your suggestions,
click your links and possibly buy your products. Give free advice and
value and then leverage that to suggest action. Pretty simple huh?
Most
forums have moderators who are responsible for making sure that people don't
spam or use harsh language and tactics. Most also have rules designed to
keep people from being too aggressive about pushing sales so make sure you read
the rules and abide by them.
If
you're an Internet marketer, those forums are more appreciative of people
trying to sell things but there are still rules. You can't just post affiliate
links all day and not get banned.
I've
actually been banned from Yahoo Answers (a great place for you to go!)
myself! A while back
I
think I posted two links or something without realizing that was against the
rules :). All you have to do is re-enroll under a different account but
it was kind of embarrassing...
Make
forum activity a part of every day's marketing strategy and you'll see great
benefit from it after a while. I would say 15 minutes a day is a good
goal to start.
Just
don't make the mistake of spending too much time in them. You can easily
get caught up in participating and waste hours of time that could be better
spent elsewhere.
NOTE:
As far as passwords and user names go, PLEASE do your self a favor and create a
spreadsheet ASAP so you can stay organized. This can get out of control
quickly if you don't.
Keep
it simple and execute!
